About Us:

Sinkler Miller Medical Association (SMMA) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to
improving healthcare for African-American and other minority communities in the Bay Area. Our
goal is to enhance healthcare access, address disparities, and support the recruitment and
retention of African-American physicians and healthcare providers in underserved communities.
Through advocacy, mentorship, and community engagement, we strive to make a meaningful
impact on healthcare equity.

Program Overview:

The Sinkler Miller Future Physician Academy (SMFPA) program is designed to support
underrepresented students in Alameda County on their journey to becoming medical doctors.
SMFPA offers a structured pathway for students interested in pursuing a career in medicine.
Through mentorship, academic support, and clinical exposure, participants will gain the skills
and experience needed to succeed in medical school and beyond.

Interviews: April 4th to 5th
Notification of Acceptance: April 14th
Number of Students Selected: 20 students for the inaugural cohort
