The Sinkler Miller Future Physician Academy (SMFPA) program

Program Overview:

The Sinkler Miller Future Physician Academy (SMFPA) program is designed to support
underrepresented students in Alameda County on their journey to becoming medical doctors.
SMFPA offers a structured pathway for students interested in pursuing a career in medicine.
Through mentorship, academic support, and clinical exposure, participants will gain the skills
and experience needed to succeed in medical school and beyond.

Program Dates: June 16-July 11
Mon-Thurs: 9-3p
Location: Laney college and doctor’s offices
Stipend provided
Rising Seniors through college sophomores

Important Dates/Information :

  • Application Deadline: May 16th
  • Interviews: May 17th & 18th
  • Notification of Acceptance: May 21st
  • Number of Students Selected: 20 students for the inaugural cohort
